2019 Phy Bio Practical Exam Briefing slides
Overview of Conduct of Physics Practical Exams (as briefed):
Listen carefully and follow instructions strictly as given by the invigilator!
– First 55 min: One student will start with Section A question(s) and the other student will start with Section B question(s).
Ensure all measurements/observations using the apparatus provided are completed for each section within the given 55 min.
– Changeover (timing is stopped): Each student will rearrange apparatus back to its original state and bring all their materials to the other side of the bench when invigilator gives the instructions.
– Second 55 min: Each student on the new side of the bench will now start with the other Section’s question(s). No returning to the original side of the bench is allowed. Only start when instructions is given.
INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES (on Physics Practical Exam Paper cover)
You will be allowed to work with the apparatus for no more than 55 minutes for each section.
You are expected to record all your observations as soon as these observations are made.
All your answers should be written in the answer sheet in permanent ink; scrap paper should not be used. You may use a pencil for any diagrams or graphs.
At the end of the examination, hand in this Question Booklet.
2019 EOY Physics Paper will NOT include the topic of REFRACTION.
All topics up to (and including) REFLECTION will be included.

The Defence Science & Technology Agency (DSTA) will be conducting an Internet-of-Things workshop on 8 May (Wednesday) from 2.30 to 5.30 p.m. at our school.
The following are the description of the workshop:
● Introduction to IoT
● Core components of an IoT setup (eg. learn the basics of setting up IoT (e.g in smart home context))
● IoT hands-on activity
● Applying IoT in various aspects (eg. Appreciate how IoT can be applied in other contexts.
If you are interested and are able to commit to the workshop, please indicate in the following Google Form by 11 Apr 2019 5 p.m.

Arduino Project
Propose an Arduino Project that you can undertake over ~8 lessons.
Your project should make use of Inputs and Outputs on the Arduino.
There are many standard components in the Physics Lab. However, small components that we do not have in school can be purchased for you. Try to give Mr Shone a list of any additional components that you may need by end of April.

Hardcopy notes to be collected from the print shop before second physics lesson. Cost is $7.70 per student and includes all practicals and assignments for the year too. Unlikely to be any other print cost for physics for the rest of the year except printing of past papers at the end of the year.
Softcopy notes can be downloaded from Google Classroom and you may use these (in place of the hardcopy notes) if you prefer.
